About
A pin nailer works on air pressure and shoots headless nails or pins into a trim for holding it against a wall. Now, since the pins are headless, they tend to leave less-noticeable holes than in case of regular nailing. However, you may still be required to manually hammer the nails at the ends for avoiding splitting of the wood. The pin nailer would anyway make the entire task a lot easier.
It is quite easy to use a pin nailer. The procedure is quite simple. First of all, mark the points on the trim that you intend to pin. Now take you pin nailer and attach it to the air compressor. After that, hold the trim in the correct position, and hold the nailer with the other hand, pressing the nose of nailer to the wood. Make sure that you start nailing from a point at least one to one and half inches from top of the trim. Now, shoot in the pin, while holding the gun tightly against the wood. Continue the process, down the trim, putting pairs of nails or pins at regular intervals. Stop before you reach the end of the trim. For the remaining portion, you can hammer in regular pins or finishing nails. You can make use of a regular driller for this purpose as well.
